About the Author
Curtis Simonson was born to the quiet farmland life of Iowa. As a child he ran through groves of
trees and corn fields with utmost joy and happiness. His passion was for the outdoors. In his youth
his imagination was untamed. It ran wild with grand dreams. Dreams of endless mountain ranges,
wild beasts like the mighty Grizzly and the majestic wolf. During a youth Bible camp in Colorado,
Curtis saw first hand the amazement of the snow covered peaks and breathtaking expanse of
wilderness. His heart was stuck and his passion grew. Around the same time Curtis discovered a
great talent within himself, the talent of writing. His school, of around five-hundred students, held a
short story writing contest. Curtis' story about a young Indian boy and his struggles to become a
man won first place. And his love for writing only grew with time. After graduating high school he
joined the United States Army Infantry. For three years Curtis drove tanks, hum-vees, five ton
trucks, shot his rifle, threw his grenades, flew in Blackhawk helicopters, marched to cadence,
trained, and trained to soldier some more. At the end of his military career he was sent to fight in
the Iraq war for nearly six months as his platoon Sergeant's humm-vee driver. He later would go
on to write his first book about that experience, the first twenty-six of his life, and his walk with
Jesus Christ. A few years out of the Army Curtis landed an amazing job as a security guard for
Old Faithful in Yellowstone national park. During this time he met his beautiful wife Jessica and
they were married atop the glorious Old Faithful Inn. And shortly after he wrote his second book; a
poetry book that lulls the mind and captivates the heart. His second book is poetry from the eyes
of a mountain man; his own eyes. His walk with Christ increased ten fold during this time in his life.
And during this time he came to discover his third book entitled "The Quiet Place". The Quiet
Place tells how to gain a life of simplicity following Jesus Christ and how to find the quiet place
within all of us. That one place where we can fully connect with the Lord and receive all the
blessings that God has prepared just for us. This book is his greatest work yet. Curtis continues
to live in the western half of the United States, where God makes all his dreams come true. He
writes, he loves his wife (who is an excellent musician, studying to teach the art), lives his life in
simplicity with Christ, and stares daily at endless mountain ranges; the same ranges that were in
his heart as a child. And he realizes that all he has accomplished and gained in his life was not by
his own hands, but by his belief and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. For with Christ any dreams that
are dreamed by anyone can come true.
